A red flower stands proudly against the rails of the center divider on an easily overlooked stretch of highway 99 in Central California. You can miss it in the painting such as you can miss it in real life. No irrigation, no shade, just the harshness of the freeway in a drought prone region, standing against all odds.
Acrylic on canvas, 12" H x 36" W, 2026. Original, one of a kind.
